This year’s Power of Giving Gala will take place both virtually and in person on Saturday, September 16th along the beautiful waterfront of Thunder Beach. The Gala will aim to raise $305,000 for Georgian Bay General Hospital, supporting the purchase of an MRI.

Take in the beautiful waterfront views of Thunder Beach and enjoy delicious hors d'oeuvres & cocktails. Visit with friends and experience our live electronic violinist play among the crowd. At 7PM, gather by the outdoor stage for powerful stories, inspiring fundraising and live entertainment from Blu Soul. In-person event takes place from 5PM-10PM. Tickets are $150 each.

Parking for in-person guests is at 150 Green Point Rd. Tiny, ON. L9M 0M7 (St. Florence Mission Church). Shuttle services will be provided to the event location.

Virtual Experience (7PM-8:15PM)

Jeanne Beker

Jeanne Beker has been at the forefront of pop culture since the mid-70s. As one of Canada’s most recognized celebrities, Jeanne speaks on how she rose to the top of arts and culture media in Canada and around the world as a founding member of MuchMusic and the iconic host of Fashion Television. Jeanne also speaks about the passion and resiliency it takes to be a trailblazing, successful entrepreneur — and the balance necessary to survive and thrive.

Jeanne's breast cancer journey, which began in 2022, has provided her with a rich, eye-opening experience and a new purpose and platform for sharing wisdom and inspiration. Her candour in discussing the peaks and valleys of her journey has inspired legions of fans across the country. She’s now on a mission to help normalize the conversation surrounding cancer and help eradicate the fear associated with the disease.  

Sara Lankshear

A nurse for over 40 years, Dr. Sara Lankshear is passionate about nursing and professional practice. In 2020, she assumed the role of Associate Dean – Nursing programs at Georgian College where she provides leadership to the Practical Nursing and Honours Bachelor of Science – Nursing programs. She is dedicated to supporting the health and wellness of our communities through a robust nursing workforce.

An active member of her community, Sara knows the importance of a strong local health care system. She served for nine years on the Georgian Bay General Hospital, Board of Directors, where she provided advocacy and advice regarding clinical issues impacting patient experience and outcomes. Sara was recently appointed to the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre, Board of Directors.  

Exclusive for in-person guests, embark on an extraordinary musical odyssey with Alireza Firoozi, the captivating Iranian violinist. With over 27 years of unwavering dedication to his craft, Alireza weaves a spellbinding tapestry of music that transcends borders and resonates with audiences worldwide. His performances are infused with a captivating blend of passion, precision, and artistry, transporting listeners to a realm where emotions soar and melodies speak volumes.

Holly Archer is a Canadian artist from Penetanguishene, Ontario, working primarily in acrylic, ink, and charcoal. Archer's work has been featured in galleries internationally, magazines, public spaces, and in both public and private collections. Most recently, Archer was presented with an award from The McMichael Canadian Art Collection. She received a 2021 Juror’s Award at the Newmarket International Art Show, was featured in the San Diego Museum of Art’s International Winter Exhibition, unveiled her first large-scale public art piece, and was a featured artist at the Hopkins Center for the Arts in Minnesota. Archer has a solo show launching in January 2024 at Quest Art School and Gallery in Midland.
